Canada Nyingma Monlam History
The first Canada Nyingma Monlam Chenmo was made possible by the sincere request and prayers from Buddhist community members in Toronto, Canada. They approached the volunteer organizing members of the Mahaparinivarna Prayer for Dodrupchen Rinpoche and Dudjom Rinpoche with the request to organize annual Nyingma Monlam Chenmo. Their request led to the formation of Nyingma Monlam Organizing Committee under the banner of International Nyingma Foundation, a registered not-for- profit organization based out of Toronto Canada.
The first Canada Nyingma Monlam Organizing Committee consisted of nine members: Tulku Dechen Dorjee, President; Thupten Choephel, Vice President; Phuntsok Topgyal, General Secretary; Urgyen Gyalpo, Religious Coordinator; Lopon Jigmey Wangchuk, Treasurer; Tenzin Gawa, Accountant; Tara Dolma, Public Relation Coordinator; Palden Dugdak, Inventory Manager; Tulku Pema Namgyal, Communication Coordinator.
With the goal to generate world peace and develop collective merit, the first Canada Nyingma Monlam Chenmo convened from August 12 - 14, 2022, presided over by Kyabjey Namgyal Dawa Rinpoche.
